Finding inspiration in a French house built in 1912, the interior designer has created something original that was built by local artisans.
The uniqueness of this property lies in its contrasts: while inspiration for the overall architecture was drawn from a distant France, the materials were all locally sourced. Lapacho wood, a sacred tree for the Incas, overlays alpaca wool furnishings, bringing a softness to the hushed atmosphere of the property. Organic food is also present: over 50% of the vegetables come from farms around Buenos Aires that work using organic production methods. The kitchen emphasizes sophisticated Mendocinean-style cuisine, and has been celebrated for distinctively complementing the wines and local products of Argentina’s wine region. This includes Algodon’s own handcrafted premium and icon wines that are featured prominently on the menu.
