AL NATURAL RESORT
Between jungle and sea, Al natural Resort is a comfortable and private retreat, perfectly integrated into the lush tropical environment.
The resort is located on the secluded beach of Old Point (Punta Vieja), on the southeast tip of Bastimentos Island in an area renowned for its natural beauty right across from the Zapatillas Keys of the Bastimentos Island National Marine Park in the archipelago of Bocas del Toro.
The resort elegantly combines the ancestral craftmanship of the Ngobe-Bugle Indians with new technologies that allow us to harvest energy from the sun and limit our impact on the ecosystem. the resort is situated on a small secluded beach far from Bocas town, surrounded by luxuriant vegetation and close to the natural wonders of Bastimentos Island national Marine park. In order to provide each guest with maximum privacy, it is our goal to maintain an intimate scale for the resort, there are only seven beach bungalows, each of a different size and unique design. Al Natural is an authentic eco-resort with a relax atmosphere and a friendly team which offers a comfortable level of personalized services. Gourmet Meals, prepared with fresh local products by our european Chef, are served in our two-story restaurant.
ACCOMMODATIONS
BUNGALOWS
All the bungalows are stilt houses and are situated right on the beach. They provide occupants with uninterrupted views of the water and surrounding flora and fauna.
The front part of the bungalow is open to the sea and the back is enclosed with 3/4 high walls. If you want to close the bungalows, it is very easy as they are equipped with canvas curtains. All beds have orthopedic mattresses and custom-made no see-um mosquito nettings. All bungalows are equipped with a hammock, reading chairs and a coffee table, as well as a locker and a safe for valuables.
Each bungalow is unique, and is composed of a terrace, private bathroom with hot and cold water, good lighting powered by a 12 volt solar powered electrical system. The exclusive features of the Superior bungalows are one King size bed, a very efficient ceiling fan and a wooden lounge chair.
7 different bungalows: one Natural House, three Superior Natural Houses, one Two-story Natural House, one Superior Two-story Natural House, and one Three-bedroom Natural House.
VILLA
We are proud to introduce our new lodging option at Al Natural Resort: our all-new multi-unit beachfront villa composed by three loft-style apartments which are offered together with the Al Natural Villa Package which includes all the services and meals offered by Al Natural Resort.
The villas have a contemporary natural design and it is all made with beautiful local wood. It was built by the same Indigenous team that built the bungalows at Al Natural Resort.
Our Activities & Excursions
The surrounding area of the resort is beautiful, very peaceful.
There is a small beach of Old Point made of very fine sand in front of the bungalows which can be narrow depending on the tides; please note that nearby, at less than 8 minutes down the same beach, there is a wide and very attractive long stretch of beach next to the Villa that you can enjoy freely ; this is next to our villa, La Residencia Natural, where we offer our water front lofts and our WIFI hot spot. This part of the beach is really paradisiac with NOBOBY! The beaches of Old Point are great to stroll or lay racket ball or just hang out, there is very few people out here. Find your perfect private sun bathing spot in paradise! Swimming in the lagoon in front of Al Natural Resort is so nice and always safe. At the end of the pier, there are a very practical and comfortable stairs to reach the water.
Also, you can kayak and snorkel the reefs just in front of your bungalow by using the sit-on kayaks and the snorkel equipment of the resort. Corals are also accessible by swimming from the beach. Also, you can discover by yourself the nearby mangrove rivers and the Indian village of Salt Creek by kayak. Standup paddle boarding in the lagoon is very fun and easy.
Many animals can be spotted near the cabins and in the nature trails of the resort andthose in the vicinity, such as night monkeys, white face monkeys, Jesus Chris lizards, sloth, caimans as well as many birds. The nature trails allow you to get to the other side of the points, on the open sea side, where there are other beaches wilder and more exposed to the waves of the Caribbean Sea.
Our new two-story restaurant offers on the ground floor, in addition to the bar and the dining room, a corner to play and a sitting area, and on the second level a great game-room with board games, this place is great place for yoga lover too. Also, we have a beach recreative building with our dive shop, the Zapatillas Dive Center, which offers a ping-pong table used as much by our guests than by our local crew, which generate great encounters. We have true champions in our team !
Gourmet Meals
Here at Al Natural, we ensure that from the start of the day to the end, we make the eating experience a memorable one.
Our professional kitchen is run by our Chef Vincent, who is from Belgium, with the help of our highly trained local staff. All meals are based on fresh local products and are served family style in which guests are seated together along a beautiful 15 feet long hardwood table in our new restaurant bar, built in the traditional Ngobe-bugle style and overlooking the sparkling water of the lagoon.
Daily-Fresch-breadThe day starts with a breakfast composed of an array of fresh tropical fruits, coconut meat, healthy cereals, freshly squeezed o.j., eggs cooked to your liking, our locally baked breads, marmalades, cheese, and of course, our great Panamean ground coffee.
After a morning of activity, or just relaxing relaxing, guests will enjoy a wholesome lunch, with international flavors, which could consist of different salads, middle eastern falafel and tzataziki sauce, Mexican quesadillas with fresh guacamole, Spanish tortilla, or Panamean “fish balls”, served with the famous patacones, the local french fries made with green banana, just to name a few. All meals are served with our homemade bread freshly baked & natural fruit juices, such as maracuya (passion fruit) and lemonade.
Delicious lunch packs, composed of sandwiches and fresh fruits, are prepared for the guests who are going to a whole day excursion. At 5:00 PM, there is a coffe break served with home made cookies.
Dinner time at Al Natural is a very unique and a special experience.As guests make their way over, they are amazed at the transformation the restaurant has taken with its many brightly lit candles and soft music playing in the background giving it a romantic and magical feeling.
This is a great time to enjoy a predinner cocktail and catch up with the other guests. Some recommended cocktails include the very popular and delicious passion fruit daiquiris, margaritas and pina-coladas.
Our 3 course gourmet dinner, prepared by the talented and fun loving Chef Vincent, is often the high time of the day. His European background combines Creole & Belgian flavors which come together on a symphony of colors and tastes that keep everyone enthralled. For example, a typical start to the meal may be a delicious fresh tuna carpaccio topped with lime, avocado, onions and saffron, which is then followed by an entrée consisting of the day’s fresh catch of fish, lobster or shrimp.
These are always prepared in his unique sauces and accompanied with different sides.Afterwards, Vincent will present a dessert that will tantalize taste buds as he elegantly combines local fruits with, for instance, shredded coconut, organic cacao, and… local rum.
This is just one example of a myriad of possibilities of meals that are served. All dinnertime meals are served with red and white wine.
