The Peace Lodge is an 18-room, Five-Star, Boutique Hotel located on the grounds of the World Famous La Paz Waterfall Gardens Nature Park.
The mountain views from the guest room balconies of the Poás Volcano and La Paz River Valley are breathtaking.
At 5,200 feet above sea level the temperature is cool and refreshing and the air is crisp and clean from the surrounding cloud and rainforest.
As a Lodge Guest you will receive unlimited access to the hiking trails, waterfalls, trout lake, and animal sanctuary exhibits of La Paz Waterfall Gardens Nature Park. You and other guests will have the entire park to yourselves before 8 am and after 5 pm which are the optimal hours for observing the animals.
The property resides at a very special altitude where cloud and rainforest coexist and is nestled between two national parks providing animals with a biological corridor. While staying with them, please try to schedule some time for relaxation in our cozy Ventanas Verdes Spa, or you can enjoy an “In-Room ” massage in front of the grand river stone fireplace in your room.
Located less than one hour from the San José (Juan Santamaria) Airport, the Peace Lodge is the perfect place to begin or end your vacation. You do not need to spend your first or last day in a city hotel. Please come spend them in the rain and cloud forest with us and still be close to the airport. They are also 20 minutes from the Poás Volcano, another “Must See” attraction in Costa Rica.

Monarch Villa
This 1,200 square foot villa leaves nothing to be desired. First there are not one, not two, but three fireplaces to set the mood for this wonderland in the Cloud Forest. The master bedroom alone invokes thoughts of romance with its king size canopy bed set before a gas fireplace. The oversized master bathroom, complete with full Jacuzzi tub, fireplace (yes, fireplace) and waterfall shower will make you wonder why you aren’t staying longer. The villa is complete with a luxurious living room with a two-story fireplace and a second floor loft with a queen size bed, a single bed and full bathroom. If that isn’t enough there is a kitchenette and dining area with refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave and room safe.
But, the villa would not be complete without a view of the La Paz River Valley and the Poás Volcano and how best to enjoy them but from the Jacuzzi tub on the balcony. But don’t worry, when you’ve had enough ‘nature’ for the day, the villa is well equipped with a stereo system with speakers in every room and satellite TV in both the living area and master bedroom.

Villa Lago
Villa Lago is the newest addition to Peace Lodge and is great for large families or couples travelling together. It hosts a living and dining area with a full kitchen, a large master bedroom and bath, a guest room with adjoining bath and a smaller bedroom with two single beds for children. Both marbled baths have Jacuzzi Tubs and there is a separate entrance from the living room in the guest bath.
The Villa has a spectacular view of the Lower Trout Lake and is located just 75 feet from the Big Trout Bar and its Jacuzzi and waterfalls. It is also located directly across the walking path from the Aviary so the birds can be a bit noisy in the morning but the balcony is a great spot to enjoy watching the toucans play.
There is also room for rollaway beds in the Master Bedroom and Living Room as well. The living room and all bedrooms have LCD TV’s with DVD players, blu-ray with surround sound system, minibar and of course there is a coffee maker, large refrigerator and toaster oven as well as a standard stove top and oven. The villa even has a washer and dryer in the master closet.

LA PAZ WATERFALL GARDENS PARK for Lodge Guests
All guests are welcome to enjoy the park before it opens and after it closes, the optimal bird watching and wildlife viewing times. They are a great option as a bird watching hotel in the greater San José area because the rain forest literally surrounds the Lodge, and they have many “hard to see” species visit the property every day. Guided walking tours are available, but they suggest booking these at the same time you reserve your room.
